This should be someone whose core business is producing a single food ingredient (e.g. meat, fish, vegetables, fruit) or a prepared food product (e.g. pies, cakes) that are delicious and local to Sussex.

We are looking for high quality and mouth-watering products from the breweries, vineyards and other drink producers of the county, with a great business behind them.

Our winner could be a restaurant, hotel, pub or cafe which uses and promotes mainly Sussex produce and offers consistently high quality food in an enjoyable atmosphere.

We’d like to hear about a top quality butcher which sells and promotes local meat and offers that little bit extra in terms of quality and service.

Possibly a delicatessen or independent local shop, maybe a farm providing locally grown produce through gate sales, a farm shop or an on-line retailer delivering direct to your door.

Providing an exciting and varied range of local produce and offering an experience which shoppers, producers and stallholders really enjoy.
Your choice should be aged 25 or under on 31/12/17, working or studying in Sussex, with a strong appreciation of all things local.
Our winner will be an innovative business from any part of the food and drink sector, supporting local produce, which has been trading for up to 3 years by the end of 2017; has the ambition and determination to succeed; and can demonstrate a realistic and sustainable business plan.
Offering great food to be eaten in a mobile situation from an individually styled and attractive unit with a clear message about what’s on offer. Someone who demonstrates responsibility for the environment and food hygiene and sources as many local ingredients as possible. Must attend at least 3 events in Sussex from April to October 2017.
Our winner will be a young farmer aged 35 or under on 31st December 2017. They can come from any sector within agriculture, horticulture or viticulture and must be involved in food or drink production. They could be part of the family farm (owned or tenanted), a student, an employee or self-employed.
