Plaw Hatch Farm is a biodynamic, 200-acre, community-owned farm on the edge of the Ashdown Forest near Sharpthorne. Plaw Hatch Farm is a mixed farm with a dairy herd providing raw milk, cheeses, yoghurts and cream. They also keep beef cattle, sheep, pigs and laying hens. A garden of 12 acres offers a range of seasonally available fruit and vegetables.
As tenant farmers, Plaw Hatch Farm’s aim is to provide as wide a range of produce as possible to the local community and reinvest the earnings towards the sustainability of the farm. All their produce, plus organic produce from local suppliers, are available through their farm shop. They proudly operate an open farm policy and encourage you to take a look around to see how they keep their land and animals and what makes Plaw Hatch so unique. From their shop, you can expect raw milk (their speciality), raw cream, raw kefir, raw cheeses, a range of yoghurts and yoghurt drinks, a wide range of seasonal vegetables and salad crops from the poly tunnels and fields, their own and local beef, lamb and pork (all either biodynamic or organic) and organic chicken and eggs delivered daily to the shop. They also offer sheep fleeces, sheepskins and knitting wool from their own flock. Plaw Hatch Farm commits to selling as much local, biodynamic and organic produce as they can get their hands on.
