Auntie Val’s Ability Centre in Storrington

Auntie Val’s Ability Centre, based in Storrington, was founded in 2007 from Auntie Val’s home kitchen and has since progressed to be a staple in producing a variety of delicious Sussex jams and preserves. Auntie Val’s only employs workers with disabilities and has been proudly awarded the disability confident employer symbol.

Auntie Val’s Jams are made with fruit, sugar, lemon juice and sometimes a little water and nothing else. All of their fruit is English and often from the surrounding Sussex area, so you know exactly what’s gone into your jam. Some highlights include their ‘Apple, Pear and Cinnamon Jam’, popular any time of year but particularly during the Christmas season, and their ‘High Dumpsie Dearie Jam’, an old Sussex recipe, containing plum, pear and apple which mingle wonderfully. Their collection has many more fruity jams to pick from.

Auntie Val’s also produces lots of local chutneys, from their ‘Sussex Spicy’, to their no added sugar range and Auntie Val’s crunchy Pickle, all age matured in the jar for that full flavour. They offer a range of exceptional and unusual marmalades with flavours such as Seville Orange, the extra tangy Lemon & Elderflower and Chocolate Orange or Liquorange as well!
