In 2014 Roberto & Fiona combined their skill and passion for Mediterranean food and way of life creating The Gorilla Kitchen, a go-anywhere outdoor pizzeria for fun alfresco eating; travelling around Sussex serving pizza in regular and special monthly locations.
Good Food Award winners in 2023 and Best Street Food Chef 2019, the Gorilla Kitchen sources their great ingredients from artisan producers in Calabria, Umbria and in their home county of Sussex. From a smallholding in the far south of Italy they get fragrant wild oregano which has been picked by hand. They also supply their spicy nduja, a soft salami paste, packed with paprika and chilli, which is a speciality of the village of Spillinga. They also collaborate with an organic family farm San Felicissimo in Umbria, using their organic olive oil and hand-made salami. Bringing that authentic Italian taste to create their pizzas here in Sussex.
